Jerry Merra

An accomplished woodwind & reed player, multi-instrumentalist (sax, clarinet, flute), Jerry, is nothing short of a powerhouse. He is adept at playing any style from jazz standards to pop hits. His improvisation skills are second to none and he instantly adapts to any environment due to his sharp ear training. A virtuoso at a young age, he was leaps and bounds beyond his classmates in high school, studied music in college and eventually became Music Director on Carnival Cruise Lines.

After his tenure at sea, Jerry moved to Las Vegas where he was the most in demand sax player on the scene, holding a jazz residency with his trio at the Bellagio for years. Aside from jazz gigs, he held residencies at the biggest hotels, performing with all the celebrities who came to town, including but not limited to artists such as Tony Bennett, Celine Dion (Cesar’s Palace), Toni Braxton, Sheen Easton, Wayne Newton, The Jersey Boys, Bette Midler and the list goes on.

Upon moving back to New England to raise his family, Jerry became a part of our roster since he’s close friends with fellow sax player, high school friend and owner of C-Zone, Greg Capozzi. We are so lucky to have this elite level of talent as part of the C-Zone family. You won’t find a more gifted, down to earth, humble and easy to work with musician anywhere.
